Five suspects face child pornography charges following investigation

During this time period, six search warrants were executed in locations across Saskatchewan.

SASKATCHEWAN - Between Feb. 17 to 28, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit participated in "Project STEEL;" a coordinated, nationwide initiative targeting child sexual abuse and exploitation offenders. The project brought together 63 law enforcement partners across Canada and led to 106 arrests nationwide.

During this time period, six search warrants were executed in locations across Saskatchewan. As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been charged with child exploitation offences:

Regina

A 38-year-old suspect; charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Make available child pornography
  • Accessing child pornography
  • Unsafe storage of firearms
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x2)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition

Next court date: March 20 at 9:30 a.m. in Regina.

A 36-year-old suspect; charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Make available child pornography
  • Accessing child pornography

Next court date: April 9 at 9:30 a.m. in Regina.

Moose Jaw

A 36-year-old suspect; charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography
  • Make available child pornography
  • Accessing child pornography

Next court date: April 28 at 9:30 a.m. in Moose Jaw.

Cando

A 25-year-old suspect; charged with:

  • Make child pornography
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Distribution of child pornography
  • Sexual assault
  • Sexual interference
  • Invitation to sexual touching
  • Indecent act

Next court date: March 7 at 9:30 a.m. in North Battleford.

Lloydminster

A 66-year-old suspect; charged with:

  • Possession of child pornography (x2)
  • Accessing child pornography

Next court date: March 12 at 9:30 a.m. in Lloydminster.
