Unity residents excited for Winter Wonderland festivities Dec. 8

A more than decade-long tradition in Unity, Winter Wonderland festivities are setting the stage for another community Christmas kic-off celebration

UNITY — The stage has been set and the tradition of Winter Wonderland community Christmas kickoff is ready to roll Dec. 8.

With a new volunteer committee at the helm, participants can be assured there will be plenty of free, family fun to take part in.

As of Nov. 25, 17 businesses have been registered as hosting activities. The earliest activity will begin at 2 p.m. with the last of activities set to conclude at 8 p.m. or after the parade.

Committee member, Nicole Headrick, says “We are really excited for all the events — Santa photos, sleigh rides, live music, street hockey, hot chocolate, cookie decorating, ornament painting, fire pits, dance party, cotton candy, Christmas baking, treats and lots of fun games with prizes planned at many locations. There is literally something for everyone and, to end the amazing night, The Winter Lights Parade will start at 7:30 p.m. at the hospital”

Check out those that participated in the window decorating contest and watch for the winners to be announced Dec. 7.

Pick a spot to watch The Winter Lights Parade that will travel from the hospital down it’s allotted route.

Check out the Unity Credit Union ad on the back page for a lineup of all the events and activities that will take place as part of Winter Wonderland events.

Support your local businesses with the added bonus of winning a grand in your hand through the chamber-sponsored promotion. Many businesses will offer one-day sales and specials throughout the day with some of the businesses opening later that night for Winter Wonderland festivities.
