UNITY - Compass Minerals, a decades old business in Unity, enlisted Christmas giving in late November and into December for residents of Unity.
Ashlie Kopp, Compass Minerals employee has helped spearhead the giving initiative and tells the Press-Herald/SASKTODAY.ca, "In November, Compass Minerals began an ice salt donation drive for members of the community."
"We are taking this opportunity to emphasize the importance of keeping driveways and sidewalks clear of ice throughout the winter months," said Plant Manager Jack Neil.
In addition to delivering salt to establishments in town, Compass Minerals staff endured frigid temperatures the night of Winter Wonderland festivities in Unity and handed out more than 125 jugs of ice salt to community members. Compass Minerals plans to continue their salt donations in the New Year in their continued efforts to give back to the community.
Many residents said they have enjoyed the surprise of these donations as well as the benefit of receiving this helpful gift during the winter and appreciate the generosity of this Unity business.
