SSFA 55+ District games with plenty of players

Sask Senior Fitness Assoc. held district games in Denzil, drawing in a crowd of participants.

DENZIL — Denzil was host to the Saskatchewan Seniors Fitness Association Rivers West 55+ district games Nov. 10 with a total of 42 participants.

Organizer and board member Cecilia Liebel said she was impressed with the turnout.

“We had many activities that were available to those who joined us. We had people from North Battleford, Unity, Luseland, Denzil, Cut Knife and Lloydminster come out for an amazing day,” says Liebel.

Some of the activities were photography, cards, pickle ball and even a short story workshop.

“We were fortunate to have a past provincial winner in the short story category come down to do a workshop for us that day. Everyone who joined that session were quite excited for it and really enjoyed it,” added Liebel.

The 2024 SSFA provincial games will be held in North Battleford this year. The winter portion of the games will be in March and the summer portion later in June.

“We want everyone to know that the provincial games are open to all. Participants did not need to take part in a district event,” said Liebel.
