June was quieter month for Unity Fire Department

Unity Fire Department continues to remind residents about backyard fire pit safety and the importance of only burning firewood.

UNITY -- Unity Fire Chief, Dwaine Kopp, reports for the month of June their department response to one false alarm for commercial alarms going off. They were also called to one motor vehicle collection and two grass fires.

UFD continues their engagement with community and on the last day of school for Unity Public School, UFD took a couple trucks over to be part of the year end water fun day. The kids thoroughly expressed their appreciation and enjoyment of the interactions.

It goes without saying that residents continue to be reminded about back yard fire pit safety. Permits are required for a backyard pit and only firewood is approved for  burning them, with no household waste to be burned in these residential fire pits.
