CUT KNIFE--The Canada 55+ games held in Kamloops BC Aug. 24 week was experienced by athletes from Cut Knife.
Cut Knife Country Lanes Bowlers, Mary Ramsay, Marion Blaine, and Blaine Reble all earned medals at the games, with Mary earning a gold in singles and Marion and Blaine earning a silver in the team event.
Over 200 Saskatchewan participants were part of the multi sports event that focuses on physical and mental well-being. The games are held every two years with the next ones set for 2024 in Trois Riviere in Quebec. 2700 Canadian athletes compete with up to 600 volunteers helping to ensure the Games’ success.
Ramsay says of her experience, “It was wonderful, and we met lots of nice people It was an awesome time.”
Ramsay has bowled for more than 20 years in Cut Knife and says it is a great group and they like to participate and compete, are bowling enthusiasts and they like to have fun.
What inspired Ramsay to compete? “To keep fit and have fun and extend bowling activities outside of our community.”
Cut Knife also had golfer, Don McCallum as a game’s participant.
