Two teens facing charges following bear spray incident in Saskatoon

At around 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 16, police were called to a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue Â鶹´«Ã½AV for a report of bear spray being discharged near an entrance.

SASKATOON - Two male youths have been arrested following the discharge of bear spray outside a mall in Saskatoon yesterday.

At around 4:45 p.m. on Dec. 16, police were called to a mall in the 200 block of 1st Avenue Â鶹´«Ã½AV for a report of bear spray being discharged near an entrance. The suspects involved in the incident were reported to have fled the area. While responding to the mall, a member of the Canine Unit observed two males matching the descriptions of the suspects in the 1000 block of 20th Street West; they were arrested without incident and found to be in possession of bear spray.

As a result, two male youths, ages 13 and 16 respectively, have been charged with unauthorized carrying of a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, assault, and mischief. The 16-year-old youth was also found to be in violation of court-imposed conditions.
