It鈥檚 been a bit tricky to come up with fresh ideas for columns during this COVID-19 business. There鈥檚 not much to write about when you spend your day hunched over a computer, or crawling through the garden weeding carrots.

Dear Editor It is incomprehensible that owners and managers who operate retail businesses do not require every staff person who interacts with customers to wear a mask. There are a very few that do and Sobeys is one.

Not out of the woods, yet

Yesterday, I told Ed, my old neighbour in Saskatchewan, that I am going to explore having personal branding. I got the idea from a realtor who sent me an email with his brand. He signed his name Ross Smith Realtor 鈥� 鈥淟et me open new doors for you.

A definite advantage of this pandemic situation is the number of ways in which we are learning more and more about unity; I know there are riots and protests but I鈥檓 talking about our town and, in particular, our local neighbourhood.

The mushrooms that seem to magically appear almost overnight in our lawns are the fruiting bodies of a fungus. Fungi cannot manufacture their own food and must obtain it from an external source.
