鈥淚 鈥榤 not sure my dad ever said those three little words to me,鈥� Ed said yesterday. We were talking about saying things today that our grandchildren don鈥檛 understand. In the past, people might say that they wanted to hear those three little words.

Dear Editor My name is Clarissa. Sept. 14 I was bike riding with my sister and we stopped to look at a table of free stuff. As we headed back home, my basket was too heavy and it tilted too far one way and I fell into the bushes to the side.

Dear Editor Once upon a time, there were three spruce trees. They swayed in the breeze morning noon and night. Birds loved these trees. They were the birds鈥� home. There were all kinds of birds.

Last week the focus was about growing herbs indoors. I wrote about how great (and necessary) it was to continue to garden indoors and about the supplemental lighting that is necessary to grow our favourite culinary herbs.

The moon begins this month less than half a day past full phase. Nov. 4, it is just 0.2 degrees north of the cluster M35. By Nov. 12, the thin, crescent moon shares the early morning sky with Venus, just three degrees north of the bright planet.

I asked Ed, my old neighbour in Saskatchewan, 鈥淲hat makes folks most thankful?鈥� Ed answered, 鈥淚t isn't wealth because everyone could use more money.

If ever we鈥檇 had an unusual Thanksgiving holiday weekend, it was this year. While we traditionally celebrated with three families (son and family, nephew and his wife and Hubby and I), this year the meals were spread out over the weekend.

鈥淚t was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon, for the sun stopped shining.

One of the first things to miss when the garden is finished is the ability to just slip outside to get some fresh herbs.
