As the Battlefords North Stars prepare for the upcoming hockey season, some former North Stars are now preparing for a new challenge in the hockey world.

Hockey season is not far away for the midget Battlefords Stars, who held their fall camp over the weekend at the North Battleford Civic Centre.

An area fastball team has kept up its dominance of the game.The Bruno Merchants men's fastpitch team won its fifth Senior B Provincial Men's title in six years, cleaning up the competition at the 2010 tournament in Saskatoon held July 23-25.

Three wins and a sealed up second-place league ranking meant it was a good week for the Marysburg Royals last week.The senior baseball team managed to win all three league games they played after coming in third at Provincials just over a week ago.

The Northwest Vipers rolled through provincials in Saskatoon easily and had high expectations heading into the Western Canadian Junior B Championships, which were held in Winnipeg last week. The Vipers started the tournament off right Aug.

The Fulda Flyers will be inducted in the team category Aug. 21 into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame. The Fulda Flyers were formed by Ted Suer, Henry Kohnle, Herman Lueke and Wilfred Schedlosky.

The Battlefords Senior Soccer League semi finals were underway Wednesday night and in three of the four games the results couldn't have be closer.
