MELFORT — It was another overtime heart-breaker for the Melfort Mustangs.
In the third game of their playoff series against the Yorkton Terriers on March 22, the Terriers won 2-1 at the Westland Arena. The series in 2-1 in favour of Yorkton.
There was no goals scored in the first and second period.
In the third period, Tye Scherger of the Melfort Mustangs scored with help from Noah Wilson and Clarke Huxley. Yorkton's Parker Jasper then tied the game with 4:30 remaining on the clock.
Seven minutes and 15 seconds into the overtime period, Greg Nelson of the Terriers ended the game with a goal.
The Mustangs and Terriers face off against March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Westland Arena. The action returns to home ice at the Northern Lights Palace on March 25 at 7:30 p.m.
