For the first time in four years North Battleford’s Andrew Albers is back in the win column as a major league pitcher.

Albers got the win in style Friday night at Target Field, as the Minnesota Twins blanked the first-place Milwaukee Brewers 2-0.

It was Albers’ first major league start since 2017 with the Seattle Mariners. On Friday night, Albers pitched 5.1 innings for the Twins and allowed only three hits against the Brewers. He allowed only one base on balls and recorded two strikeouts.

The bullpen then took over and went the rest of the way, preserving the shutout. For Albers, it was his first win in a Twins uniform since Aug. 12, 2013 against Cleveland. It was also Albers’ second strong outing of the season with the Twins, after appearing in relief the week before against the New York Yankees.
