People involved in the business of developing and selling property in the Eagle Hills area are saying times are good - good enough for local Saskatchewan residents to want to return home.

It was announced this week that after three decades serving the Battlefords and area in the trophy and sign business, Four-D Signs and Trophies Ltd. will be closed effective August 31, 2011.

There is one less candidate in the North Battleford city council by-election race. Steven Cormons, who had filed his papers in time for the Wednesday nomination deadline, withdrew from the race Thursday.

Volunteers with the Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation were busy last week preparing for the upcoming $100,000 cash lottery. The preparation will have them ready to start selling tickets Friday.
