Wenzel headed to trial in P. A. court on weapons-related charges

Branden Wenzel was arrested after Prince Albert Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team raided a home on Kemp Crescent.

PRINCE ALBERT – A 28-year-old man facing numerous weapons-related charges is headed to trial.

Branden R. Wenzel was arrested in August after Prince Albert Police Service’s Crime Reduction Team raided a home on Kemp Crescent and seized a sawed-off rifle and other items. Officers from the PAPS Crime Reduction Team work with the Street Enforcement Team and Prince Albert Integrated Intelligence Unit to target gang violence, and its related weapons, drug and property crimes.

Wenzel was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm and ammunition, possession of a firearm obtained by crime, possession of stolen property, and breach of court-ordered conditions.

He has a trial today in Prince Albert court and one scheduled in December. 

The charges against him haven’t been tested in court.
