Trial set for four on drug trafficking, weapons charges

When police entered the apartment they saw an illegally modified firearm in plain view and methamphetamine

MEADOW LAKE – A trial has been scheduled for January 2023 for four co-accused facing weapons and drug trafficking offences.

Owen Misponas, 28, of Beauval, Kelsey Gladue, 28, and Kenton Bouvier, 19, both of Meadow Lake, and Gerald Sinclair, 35, of Green Lake, were arrested in January following a disturbance at an apartment building in Meadow Lake.

Police say that a suspect went into the building and sprayed bear mace at an individual and then entered one of the apartment units.

When police entered the apartment they saw an illegally modified firearm in plain view and a small amount of methamphetamine. Police obtained a search warrant and located 56 grams of methamphetamine, bear mace, a baton, edged weapons, an undisclosed sum of cash, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, and an illegally modified firearm.

Sinclair was also wanted on warrants from Green Lake RCMP and Misponas was wanted by Saskatoon Police.

The charges against the accused haven’t been tested in court.
