Teen facing weapons charges following bear spray incident on bus

Upon a search of one of the suspects, police located and seized a large machete and bear spray.

SASKATOON - A male youth has been charged following an incident on a city bus Tuesday night in Saskatoon.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 22, police received a report of bear spray being discharged on a city bus. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival; however, were soon located in the 600 Block of Avenue X Â鶹´«Ã½AV.

Arriving officers located and arrested three of the four suspects without incident. Upon a search of one of the suspects, police located and seized a large machete and bear spray.

As a result, a 16-year-old male youth has been charged with possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. He was also found to be wanted on several warrants from the Prince Albert Police Service and was breaching his court-imposed conditions.

Police are continuing to investigate and further charges may be laid.
