School may be out but it doesn't mean the children have to be bored without school to keep them busy.
The Maidstone Library will be hosting summer reading activities every Wednesday afternoon from July 6 until Aug. 24. Sessions will start at 2:30 p.m. and are for school-aged children.
This year the national summer reading club theme is Splash, Celebrate Summer and the local library will be celebrating the theme with crafts, songs, stories, games and snacks.
Everyone is also invited to stop by the library to take part in the Lakeland Library Region's bingo contest.
The Maidstone-Eldon Recreation Board along with the Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation is offering a day with the mobile playground Wednesday July 11 from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the C.E. Wing of the United Church. Registrations are required by calling Christine Myer at 893-2298 before July 5.
The Paradise Hill Gymnastics and Dance Club invites children three and up to attend a summer gymnastics camp from July 25-29. Younger children can spend half days at the camp while older children will be able to spend full days learning and having fun.
