The annual Bike Roadeo, hosted by Prairie North Health Region will be back in the Battlefords May 31 to June 2.

Grade 4 students from participating schools will be learning about bike safety, the rules of the road and the importance of wearing a helmet.

May 31, the public can stop in at the Alex Dillabough Centre between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to purchase a helmet at a significantly reduced cost. Also, between 3 and 6 p.m. PNHR will be running child passenger safety clinics, in which parents and caregivers can have their car seats checked.

The same will take place at the Civic Centre June 1, while June 2 will be the Bike Roadeo for students only, although the public can still come to purchase helmets.

Safe Kids Canada has partnered with PNHR for the clinics and will be handing out grants for low-income families to use towards the purchase of car seats.

The SGI Safety Squad will also be in attendance, as well as training technicians and volunteers.
