Regina man facing charges following weapons offence in Saskatoon

A Regina man was arrested and is facing charges following a weapons offence in Saskatoon.

On Aug. 18, at approximately 4:20 a.m. police were called to the area of Pendygrasse Road and McCormack Road for reports of a man slashing car tires.

Upon arrival, officers began searching for the suspect and shortly after located a man matching the description, walking Eastbound on Pendygrasse Road. Upon further investigation, officers learned the man had a warrant for his arrest out of Regina; he was then arrested.

While being arrested for the outstanding warrant, officers found the man to be in possession of two knives as well.

As a result, a 52-year-old man is facing charges relating to possession of a weapon, concealing a weapon, and failure to comply with court-ordered conditions.

After follow-up investigation, officers were able to locate a number of vehicles with slashed tires. Police are still investigating and at this time, mischief charges have not yet been laid.
