PRINCE ALBERT - A man arrested by the Prince Albert Police Street Enforcement Team is headed to trial.
The trial for Kyle Crain, 29, on drug trafficking charges starts on Oct. 29 in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Crain was arrested on Feb. 4 after police raided a residence in the 600 block of 7 Street East in Prince Albert. They seized 45 grams of crack cocaine, more than 120 grams of meth and about eight grams of Psilocybin. They also found $7,000 in cash, a loaded shotgun and ammunition, brass knuckles, a Tazer and bear spray.
Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) assisted Prince Albert Police in the initial investigation. SCAN units have tremendous power when investigating drug complaints. They can issue warnings, pursue the landlords and ask a court to issue a Community Safety Order to board up a property for 90 days.
Crain’s co-accused Cameron Alexander Morin, 26, is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Sept. 22 to speak to his charges. He is charged with numerous drug and weapons-related offences, breach of probation, and breach of court-ordered release conditions.
The charges against Crain and Morin haven’t been proven in court.
