Supporters of missing North Battleford woman Ashley Morin participated in an annual walk for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIWG) in Prince Albert July 8.
The walk is part of the 鈥淲e Rise鈥� ceremony organized by the Prince Albert Grand Council Women鈥檚 Commission and aims to bring affected families together to heal.
听鈥淲e need whoever is responsible for her disappearance to know this family is not giving up,鈥� said Krista Fox previously. 鈥淲e are not going to sit idle and let this story fade away. It鈥檚 never going to go away and we鈥檙e never going to give up.鈥�
Ashley Morin went missing from North Battleford mid-July 2018. In 2019 RCMP released an image of a two-tone van (lighter on the top, darker on the bottom),听that didn鈥檛 appear to have any windows. Police say it was at the corner of 96 Street and 16 Avenue in North Battleford 鈥� one of the last places police say Morin was seen at about 9:30 p.m., July 10, 2018. Police said the van, or the people who may have been inside it, may have valuable information.
In 2019 Saskatchewan RCMP said based on numerous Crime Stoppers tips and witness statements, they believe Morin, who was 31 when she went missing, is a victim of a homicide. RCMP said they didn鈥檛 find any social media, mobile phone or bank account activity linked to Morin. Police say Morin鈥檚 last contact with her family was on July 10, 2018.
