A Grade 7 student needed CPR following a near-drowning at Aquadeo Monday.
The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. Battlefords Rural RCMP and EMS were dispatched to Aquadeo at Jackfish Lake. According to the RCMP, a 13-year-boy, who was on a year end school field trip from the Battlefords, was noted in distress in the water. Lifeguards performed CPR until the ambulance arrived.
The youth was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital and was further transported to Saskatoon. His condition is considered life threatening.
According to Living Sky School Division, no other details are being released at this time in order to respect the family.
Aquadeo is approximately 40 km north of North Battleford.
