A Grade 7 student has died after drowning in the water at Aquadeo on Monday .
The incident happened shortly after 1100 am June 27, 2011. Battlefords Rural RCMP and EMS were dispatched to Aquadeo at Jackfish Lake. According to the RCMP, a 13 year boy who was on a year-end school field trip from the Battlefords was noted in distress in the water. Lifeguards performed CPR assistance until the ambulance arrived. The youth was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital and was further transported to Saskatoon.
Early reports had indicated his condition was considered life threatening. Then on Wednesday came word that the boy had died.
According to Living Sky School Division, no other details are being released at this time in order to respect the family.
Aquadeo is approximately 40 km north of North Battleford.
