The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) today announced court fines of $18,500 levied in northern Saskatchewan during the first quarter of 2011 to individuals and businesses for failure to file personal, corporate, and Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns.
Jack Androsoff of North Battleford pleaded guilty to failure to comply with a court order to file a corporate tax return for his company 622038 Saskatchewan Ltd. for 2003. He was fined $2,000 and the court issued an order requiring the outstanding return be filed by September 15, 2011.
Christopher Roth of Goodsoil pleaded guilty to failure to file his personal tax returns for 2007 and 2008. He was fined $2,000.
Provincial Paving Stone and Concrete Ltd. and corporate director Cindy Peters, of Dalmeny, pleaded guilty to failure to file corporate tax returns for 2007 and 2008. They were fined $4,000 and ordered to file the outstanding returns within 60 days.
101067404 Saskatchewan Ltd. of Saskatoon, operating as 49cent Videos, was found guilty of failure to file a corporate tax return for 2005 and GST returns for 2005 and 2006. A fine of $4,500 was levied and ordered to be paid by June 1, 2011.
Job Source Safety Services Inc. and corporate director Shannon Anderson, of Saskatoon, were found guilty of failing to file GST returns for 2004 to 2006 and were fined $6,000. The corporation in this case pleaded guilty, whereas Mr. Anderson pleaded not guilty. The required returns were ordered to be filed within 120 days.
