National Road Safety Week runs to May 23 and Battlefords Municipal RCMP members will again be targeting speeders, people who don't wear seat belts and those who run stop signs.

Those offences will be the focus of a blitz in the City of North Battleford and Town of Battleford.

Speeding offences start at $120, seatbelt fines are $175 and stop signs are $230 as well as points being added to drivers' licences.

During a traffic enforcement blitz held earlier this spring, North Battleford saw 190traffic charges and one criminal code charge. Battleford saw 31 traffic charges and the village of Cochin had 53 traffic charges. The main charges laid were for speeding and seatbelts and stop sign violations.
