SASKATOON - A man was arrested and is facing charges in relation to a drug investigation in Saskatoon.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 17, investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) Guns and Gangs Unit, with assistance from Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Tactical Support Unit (TSU), conducted enforcement action as part of a drug investigation.
A 27-year-old man was taken into custody in the 100 block of Betts Avenue as a result. He was treated for injuries consistent with a dog bite and transported to SPS Detention where he was held for court.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 100 block of Molland Lane and on a vehicle, resulting in the following seizures: $26,160 CAD; approximately one kilogram of cocaine in a vacuum-sealed package; drug-packaging materials; mixing equipment and materials; vacuum sealer; and multiple cell phones.
The man has been charged with being in possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine), and being in possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
