Due to the generous support of the Battlefords and surrounding communities, Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation's Monthly Lottery is now over 80 per cent sold out.
With everyone's continued support let's make this a sell out this week.
Funds raised for the 2011 Monthly Lottery have been allocated to purchase a patient monitoring system for the new Endoscopic Suite. Endoscopy is an invaluable procedure used in diagnosing certain disorders or conditions, including cancer. During the procedure this new system will monitor the patient's heart rate/rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation of the blood, ensuring the well-being and health of the patient. It will also allow the anaesthetist to record and maintain the patient's health status to a central location.
"The Monthly Lottery remains a popular and successful fundraiser for the foundation" noted Cheryl Gantefoer, chair of the foundation, adding the board "is grateful and thankful for all the bighearted support shown for the Monthly Lottery. It enables the foundation to continue their mandate of enriching patient care at BUH through responsible stewardship of community contributions and volunteer resources, by supporting the funding of capital and non-capital medical equipment as well as staff education at BUH. We wish all ticket purchasers of the 2011 Monthly Lottery the best of luck."
The Monthly Cash Lottery gives ticket purchasers the opportunity to have their ticket drawn 156 times over the span of a year. As well, there are Early Bird and Previous Purchaser draws for $1,000 each, making for a total of 158 draws, with a total of $50,000 in cash prizes.
The deadline for ticket purchases for the Previous Purchaser is 5 p.m. Friday April 1. Tickets are available at BUH Foundation Office, the BUH Foundation Hospital Canteen/Gift Shop, or by calling 446 6652.
