A fugitive wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was apprehended on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation early this week.
Around 7 p.m., March 8, the Loon Lake RCMP detachment arrested Michael Brian Bearboy, with the assistance of the Pierceland RCMP and the Meadow Lake RCMP Police Dog Service.
The 41-year-old man fled a halfway house in Edmonton, Alta., Feb. 26.
Bearboy was serving a seven-year sentence for manslaughter, following an incident that took place in Loon Lake in 2006.
