A former Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) teacher has been charged with a sexual offense.
Jeff Anthony Schlosser, 44, has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual exploitation. He was charged under Section 153.1.a of the Criminal Code.
A preliminary hearing took place at Provincial Court in Saskatoon on March 21. Judge T.W. White determined there was enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
A trial date has not yet been set.
According to the charge, it is alleged that at some point between Sept. 2002 and June 2008, Schlosser, "being in a position of trust and authority towards a young person," did "on numerous occasions for a sexual purpose, touch directly the body of the young person with a part of his body."
In criminal cases of a sexual nature, media are prohibited from publishing any details that might threaten to reveal the identity of the complainant.
Judge White also ordered a ban on the publication of any evidence pertaining to the case.
Schlosser taught at HCI for several years until leaving in early 2010. He also worked as a freelance cartoonist. His work frequently appeared in the Humboldt Journal.
Schlosser is now believed to be living in the Saskatoon area.
