Fire price tag $20,000

It is estimated there was $20,000 in damage to contents of a house on 98th Street after a fire on the weekend. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a couch on fire in a house on the 1500 block of 98th Street.

Fire crews were on the scene Saturday at a two-alarm house fire on 98th Street. The fire was quickly brought under control but there was an estimated $20,000 in damage to the property.

It is estimated there was $20,000 in damage to contents of a house on 98th Street after a fire on the weekend.

North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of a couch on fire in a house on the 1500 block of 98th Street. The incident happened Saturday around 2:30 p.m.

Fire crews found heavy smoke coming from the front door of the home as well as visible flames through the living room windows. Fire crews made entry, they said, and they were quickly able to get the fire under control. Three apparatus and 11 personnel were on the scene for an hour and 15 minutes.

Battlefords Victim Services and WPD Ambulance were also at the scene. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
