The final poll-by-poll breakdown of the May 2 election results show Gerry Ritz won a commanding victory in just about every part of the riding.
Only First Nations voters and a few polling places in North Battleford resisted the Conservative MP, who won easy re-election with 67 per cent of the vote.
Final results according to Elections Canada in all 173 polls give the Conservative MP 19,203 votes, compared to 7,767 for Glenn Tait of the NDP, 950 for Jordan LaPlante of the Liberals and 785 for Norbert Kratchmer of the Green Party.
The total number of votes cast was 28,814. There were 109 rejected ballots.
As expected, the western and central portions of the riding were dominated by Ritz, with the incumbent MP sweeping the polls in Lloydminster, Unity and Kindersley as well as the non-First Nations rural polls.
One Lloydminster poll gave Ritz 262 votes compared to 48 for Tait, nine for Kratchmer and six for LaPlante. The NDP were blown out in the Border City, with all 15 polling places in Lloydminster won by Ritz.
Ritz was as dominant in the central portion of the riding. In the four polls in the town of Maidstone, Ritz buried his NDP opponent by a margin of 501 to 107.
The race proved more competitive in the northeast and in the Battlefords, areas which have traditionally been stronger for the NDP. But even here, Ritz prevailed. In the city of North Battleford Ritz won 22 polls compared to five for the NDP.
In the town of Battleford, where Tait located his campaign office, all eight polls went Conservative, though one poll saw Ritz finish ahead of his NDP opponent by just four votes.
Ritz also took 221 votes compared to 106 for Tait in Meota and won by a margin of 146 to 105 in Cochin.
The strongest support for the NDP in the riding came, as expected, from First Nations reserves and communities across the constituency. Tait took those polls by overwhelming margins.
Tait swept the polls on Onion Lake, Thunderchild, Saulteaux, Moosomin, Little Pine, Poundmaker, Sweetgrass, and Red Pheasant by margins usually in excess of 90 per cent of the vote.
Tait also won Cando with 99 votes compared to 58 for Ritz and one for LaPlante.
