Families were evacuated from a home at 1441-104th Street Sunday when a fire in a nearby detached garage threatened their multi-unit home.
The fire, reported at just before 7:30 a.m., had engulfed the garage. The fire was quickly brought under control by North Battlford Fire and Emergency Services personnel, according the Fire Chief Pat MacIssac, but the three family unit was evacuated.
Fifteen firefighters responded to the blaze and were on the scene more than 90 minutes.
The suite on the west side of the structure suffered exterior damage. MacIssac said the garage and its contents were a total loss.
