RCMP are on the lookout for a suspect in response to a robbery involving an elderly woman working in her garden in North Battleford.
The incident happened on the 500 block of 100th Street Tuesday at around 4:30 p.m. Battlefords RCMP responded to a medical distress alarm at that location. Officers found an elderly victim who had been approached by a lone man while working in her garden. The victim said she sensed something was wrong and tried to get into her house. The man followed her in, pushed her to the floor, struck her several times and demanded money. The victim did not have money and the man took several bottles of liquor. The man then locked the residence and told the victim to stay inside.
The female victim was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital with minor injuries.
Police are now looking for the suspect. He is described as aboriginal, 5'5", 120 lbs., short black hair, wearing a black jacket with yellow writing on the sleeves and the back.
