North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services had a busy afternoon March 18, as they responded to two fender-benders on the same avenue, less than 20 minutes apart.

The first accident occurred a little after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 18th Avenue and 101st Street. Two vehicles were involved in the relatively minor accident. One of the drivers had complaints of a sore neck and chest area and was transported to Battlefords Union Hospital.

The second accident, also involving two vehicles, took place two blocks east, on 18th Avenue and 103rd Street.

City bylaw officers were on scene to redirect traffic, while North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services attended to an injured person, until the WPD ambulance arrived to transport the patient to the hospital.

Yet another reminder to slow down in icy or otherwise poor driving conditions.
