A family dog died during a fire in North Battleford early Wednesday.
The fire broke out in a single story residence at the 1200 block of 109th Street. The blaze broke out around 12:30 a.m.
The fire was contained to the kitchen area. North Battleford Fire and Emergency Services firefighters extinguished the blaze and were there an hour and 45 minutes, however the dog died during the incident.
There was also heavy smoke damage throughout the house.
Three fire apparatus and seven fire personnel were on the scene as were the RCMP, WPD Ambulance and the North Battleford bylaw officer.
