Directors set to fill spots on Battlefords Chamber board

No election was needed to fill the spots available on the 2022 board

THE BATTLEFORDS - The Battlefords Chamber of Commerce has announced the names of the individuals who will fill the seats on their board for 2022 to 2024.

There were nine seats available for two year terms and there was one vacancy for a one-year term. The nominations committee has completed its work and all the open spots have been filled by nominees, meaning an election will not be required. The nominations committee will now recommend forwarding the names to the current board for ratification.

According to the Chamber’s news release the directors who will be serving two-year terms are:

Ashlee Babiy - CIBC;

Tracy Benson - BATC;

Tisha Carriere - Gold Eagle Lodge;

Pamela Connor - Dynamic Appraisals;

Terry Gagne - SaskTel;

Cassandra Germsheid - Kerr’s Cleaners Inc.;

Ron Kulcheski - Innovation Credit Union;

Glenda Rye - North Battleford Luk Plumbing Heating and Electric Ltd.;

Jeremy Smith - The Smith’s Makeup Artistry and Photography.

Filling the open one-year position:

Harris Sutherland - Gold Eagle Casino.

Directors still with a year to go on their terms or receiving an executive appointment include:

Roy Dussault - Discovery Co-op. Set to retire in Februrary 2022 and seat to be filled by Curtis Gratton;

Donna Lehman - Westland Insurance Group, Ltd.;

Dallan Oberg - HRO Chartered Professional Accountants;

Kayla Peterson - Re/Max of the Battlefords;

Melanie Roberts - North West College;

Derek Schmidt - Bill and Don’s Mens Wear.

The new board members will be on hand at their Annual General Meeting and officially join the board in February.

Also, coming up Jan. 25 is the Chair’s Luncheon to officially induct Derek Schmidt as the new chair, taking over from Melanie Roberts. Roberts will be staying on the executive as past chair. 

The Chair’s Luncheon will be a hybrid event held at Blend, where participants have the option to attend live or participate virtually. In-person guests are required to show proof of vaccination.
