NORTH BATTLEFORD - Building permits numbers cooled off considerably in North Battleford in September, but are still ahead of pace for the year.
According to the numbers presented for September, eight permits were issued in September for $1,088,450. That is down from 12 permits for $3,090,450 for the same month in 2020.
The result is that numbers for 2021 are now almost exactly the same pace as in 2020. So far through the end of September, 78 permits have been issued for $19,328,400. That compares to 77 permits for $19,205,328 for the same period in 2020.
Administration indicated at Monday's council meeting that permits are where they expected they would be for the year. It also looks as if more building permit activity will be reflected in the next report for October. The indication from Director of Corporate Services Jennifer Niesink to council Monday night is that they are expecting one other large project coming through, so "we should end up with quite a good year."
