Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation Region 2 director Brad Dahl gave a brief presentation regarding the 2011 hunting synopsis. He began his presentation by mentioning that in 1957 the club, then known as Redberry Fish and Game, had 112 members. He also mentioned that the Redberry Wildlife Federation has requested some funding to assist with the club's trout pond that is stocked and viable.

Dahl informed the crowd that the May synopsis will only be a supplement. The wildlife management division wants to ensure that big game population did not experience winter kill. The draw and hunting limits will be determined, then a regular synopsis will be published and distributed in August.

He also emphasized the new restrictions that will be enforced regulating vehicles on wildlife land. Hunters will have foot access only to wildlife land for hunting and retrieving animals. Dahl explained too many hunters were abusing their privilege to drive on the land.

Another item of change to look for in the new synopsis in August is the wildlife management zones. Once completed, a new map will be included in the synopsis as well as being posted on the website. Out-of-province hunters will now have to enter online for the big game draw of which applicants must be zone specific. All applications by resident and non-resident hunters must be completed online in 2011.

Dahl concluded by discussing the bear, wolf and elk tags possibilities.

The Redberry Wildlife Federation executive consists of Glenn Lamontagne as president, Dwayne Tanchak as vice-president, and Teresa St. Cyer as secretary-treasurer. Directors include, but are not limited to, Dwayne Hupaelo, Terry Shewchuk, Tim Stupnikoff, Lorne Shewchuk, Dave Prystupa, Stan Shewchuk, Russ Krysak and Tirzah Naharney.
