For the fourth year in a row, the Candlelight Processional will bring the story of Christ鈥檚 birth to life.

This year鈥檚 performances are scheduled for Nov. 23 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 24 at 2 p.m., both at the Dekker Centre.

鈥淓very year it gets a little more comfortable, a little more professional,鈥 said Paul Sayers, one of the 鈥渆lite event coordinators鈥 of the event.

The genesis for the Candlelight Processional came initially from Disney, who hold their own Candlelight Processional at Disneyland each year.

What the Battlefords version has done is take the idea and make it their own, said Sayers, adding a number of things to the production for a professional-looking one hour and 45 minute show.

There are 60 singers in the choir who come from all around the Battlefords and surrounding region. The choir under the direction of Stephen and Jo Carter, who were part of Miller College of Swift Current, and who directed the choir there for 14 years.聽

The storyboard was designed by Paul and Pauline Sayers, and this year the theme is 鈥渁ncient words.鈥

鈥淚t鈥檚 all on prophesy 鈥 it鈥檚 the prophesy of the coming Messiah,鈥 said Sayers about the theme. The music in the performance then tells the story right to the birth of Jesus Christ.

鈥淚t鈥檚 unique. There鈥檚 no Christmas decorations. It鈥檚 just people doing what they love to do 鈥 sing, and bring a message of good hope.鈥

Tickets are $35 plus GST and the net proceeds go to mental health. Over the last three years over $11,000 has been donated to different charities from the event. Tickets can be obtained at 306-445-7700 or www.dekkercentre.com.聽
