Fun day showcases rink repairs

Jan. 21 was a "fun day" at Waseca Rink. It was a great opportunity for family skating, a time to see the tremendous work that has been done by volunteers to upgrade the rink building and get the ice ready for skating.

Bingo warms up a blustery evening

Borden Parks and Recreation Board held a bingo in Borden School gym on a blustery Jan. 12 evening, with about 30 out to play 20 games of bingo. Donated prizes were won by those attending and the cash 50/50 of $36.50 went to Lottie Petriew.

Fire disaster fund set up for newly married couple

Dean and Heidi Phipps of Marshall lost everything, including their dog, in a fire Jan 11. Heidi is the daughter of Denise Nichol from the Borden Art and Eatery. Dean and Heidi were married last summer and had a new RTM home at Marshall.

Improvements to centre approved

Bingo was played at the Maidstone Drop In Centre Jan. 5 with Margaret MacEachern and Jean Hartman doing the calling. Dorothy Kissick and Jean Stewart providing lunch. The loonie pot was won and divided by Dorothy Harmel and Dorothy Schwartz.
