CUT KNIFE — For the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic, Remembrance Day services were held at Cut Knife's Elks Theatre hosted by Cut Knife Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 200.
The theatre was filled close to capacity.
Cut Knife Legion president Brian MacDonald led the Legion's portion of the service and invited everyone to come to the community centre for a lunch following the service. Rev. Grant Wasmuth led the service with Darla Wasmuth playing piano to accompany the hymns.
Legion members Giselle Brackenbury and Dixie Eddingfield made presentations to the winners of the Legion's literary and poster competition. Audrey Stewart took part as the nurse, laying poppies in memory of those from the area who sacrificed their lives in the First and Second World Wars.
Close to 100 people came to the Community Centre following the service to enjoy the lunch provided by Legion members.
