It has been a little over a year since the Battleford West Place condos were open for tenants to move in. All 24 condos are occupied, although there has been some changes as a few tenants have come and gone. These open spaces are filled quickly and there is a long waiting list.

Dec. 11 the management and workers of Battleford West Place held a special Christmas evening for the residents. It was well attended and we all enjoyed a delicious steak supper catered by a restaurant in North Battleford. Before and after dinner we were entertained by the Battlefords Blend Harmony Chorus. Fifteen choir members performed a variety of songs, which included some Christmas tunes.

We have a wonderful group of senior people in the condos and I received many “thank yous and greetings for the handmade Christmas cards. A big thank you and merry Christmas goes out to all.

We are now starting our second year in Battleford West Place and it is a wonderful home for seniors. For many of us it is a new way of life to get used to living in a condo in town. It’s much different than country life on the farm.

Get well wishes go out to my sister, Irene Greer, as she has had knee surgery in Saskatoon. She has been a school bus driver serving the route from Baljennie to the Battlefords

After a milder, extended fall season we have to get used to the sudden change to bitterly cold weather. A severe cold blast of air has swept in from the Arctic and it has made everyone dig out much needed warm clothing. Take care and keep warm.
