Bready School will host Canadian author Deborah Ellis in March.
Ellis, author of The Breadwinner, Parvana's Journey and Mud City, will be visiting several Saskatchewan Schools as part of the WorldBeat Global Education Project's "Honouring Courage and Strength: Saskatchewan Students Meet the World" provincial tour.
Ellis will speak about the courage and strength she has seen in the faces of young people in the developing world.
Many of the characters in her novels are based on people she met while in places such as Afghanistan, Israel and the West Bank, Malawi and Tanzania. Her novels are full of the richness of the cultures she observed and reflect the courage of the young people she encountered as they came face to face with war poverty, homelessness and many other challenges.
