Blankets for Canada is off for the summer and will resume in the fall.

VISCOUNT — Congratulations to all the graduating classes. Best wishes for all.

We attended the Colonsay garage sales that were held on May 28. Not often are we around when they are held, but we enjoyed the morning shopping.

Six Blankets for Canada ladies met at the Viscount Library for the last time on Wednesday, May 25. We will be resuming again in the fall. In February, when COVID-19 restrictions loosened up, we were permitted to gather again, and the total number of blankets we made were 71.

Last week we delivered 25 adult blankets and 11 baby blankets, and we added a new shelter to our list, this one being in Regina. All our blankets are donated within our province. It takes 48 8"x8" knitted or crocheted squares to make an adult blanket, 35 squares of the same size to make a youth blanket, and 25 squares to make a baby blanket.

We very much appreciate the donations of squares that help us make these beautiful blankets as there is such a great need for blankets in the many shelters all over our province, and indeed, right across Canada. Donations of yarn helps us finish off the blankets, so once again, very much appreciated.

We may meet here and there throughout the summer should we find that our dwindling number of squares has increased due to donations. Until then, we will continue to accept both yarn and squares throughout the year. Always ready to answer questions, so feel free to call Evelina at 306 944-4820. Until we meet again, have a wonderful summer, everyone!

What is with this wind? It seems like I am always finding something wrong with the weather. It would be nice to have a calm and warm day for a change.

It sure won't be long now before the end of another school year. People will be heading out camping and holidaying.

Best wishes to anyone that might be under the weather, hope you feel better soon. Have a great week, enjoy all that you can.
