Suspects face numerous drug and weapons charges following seizure

Officers seized a firearm, nearly $12,000 cash, ammunition, and a quantity of packaged cocaine and cannabis.

PRINCE ALBERT AREA - Police seized a firearm and cocaine in a traffic stop in the Prince Albert area recently. 

On Sept. 16 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Saskatchewan RCMP's La Ronge Crime Reduction Team (CRT) stopped an SUV for aggressive driving on Highway 2, north of Prince Albert.

Officers arrested the driver and passenger, both men, under the Cannabis Act.

Upon further investigation, officers seized a firearm, nearly $12,000 cash, ammunition, and a quantity of packaged cocaine and cannabis from the SUV. Following an additional search, officers seized a quantity of cocaine from one of the suspects.

The two suspects, ages 20 and 21, both from Saskatoon, are facing multiple charges including: possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine; possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; unsafe storage of a firearm; carrying a concealed weapon; possession of a firearm when knowing possession unauthorized; possession of a firearm and ammunition in a vehicle; possession of restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without licence/registration; and tampering with serial number of a firearm.
