Woman charged in suspicious vehicle investigation

Vehicle evaded police on Friday night, required Aerial Support Unit to assist in finding.

Regina Police arrested an individual facing four charges following a flight from police incident.

REGINA - Regina Police report that a 26 year-old Regina female is charged in connection with an investigation into a suspicious vehicle that evaded police.

Police are reporting the woman is charged with the following:

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000; Flight from Peace Officer; Operate Conveyance Dangerous to Public; and Operating while Impaired. 

On Friday, Oct. 13, around 11:35 pm, Regina Police were called to the 1200 block of McTavish Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. But the vehicle drove away before they arrived. 

The Aerial Support Unit assisted in locating the vehicle and police were alerted to its location. Police report they attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver evaded. The Aerial Support Unit then continued to monitor the vehicle, and advised ground units the vehicle had stopped on the 3500 block of 14th Ave., Regina.

Aerial Support soon advised police on the ground that the driver and a passenger had exited the vehicle and had run to a house in the area. Police then attended and arrested the female driver without incident.

The accused is to make her first court appearance in Provincial Court on Monday, Oct. 16.
