REGINA - It's November in Saskatchewan and that means one thing: the snow is coming.
Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for the RM of Maple Creek including Maple Creek, and for Cypress Hills Provincial Park.
According to Environment Canada:
"Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected. Snow is expected in southwestern Saskatchewan on Tuesday as a low pressure system from Alberta moves across the region. While most areas can expect anywhere from 2-5 cm of snow, upslope northerly winds over the Cypress Hills will result in enhanced snowfall accumulations approaching 15 cm by Tuesday evening. Winds gusting to 60-70 km/h will give very poor visibility in snow and blowing snow. The snow will taper off and winds diminish Tuesday night."
The public is also being warned accumulating snow could make travel difficult, and to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
The rest of the province is not under a snowfall warning but that does not mean they will escape the snowflakes. The forecast for Regina calls for flurries overnight, followed by a chance of rain showers or snow flurries on Tuesday with highs around 4 Celsius. Snow is also expected on Tuesday night, but temperatures are expected to go back up to 9 Celsius by the end of the week.
