OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been updated with two significant features: image analysis and a synthetic AI voice for conversation. The image recognition functionality can provide instructions based on uploaded images and identify objects, broadening its utility across various fields. Despite its potential, it is designed to avoid answering questions about human faces – a measure taken to prevent the misuse of facial recognition technology.

The addition of a synthetic voice feature enables more natural and fluid interactions with ChatGPT. This enhancement stands out from traditional AI voice assistants, offering a more human-like conversation experience and potentially changing the way users engage with AI.

Like every new AI feature, these new features are sure to raise questions about privacy and ethics, but I'm excited about the creative opportunities afforded by multimodal AI.

P.S. ICYMI: Wednesday's Shelly Palmer LIVE is on YouTube. I talked about the WGA contract, did a hands-on demo of Google's Bard Extensions for Google Workspace (Google's version of Microsoft's Office 365 Copilot), talked about what I really think about my new iPhone 15 Pro Max, and much more. .
