SASKATOON — Saskatoon police have charged four individuals with aggravated assault following two stabbing incidents last night.

Saskatoon Police Service says that at approximately 6:40 p.m., Sept. 5, patrol officers responded to two reports of individuals suffering from stab wounds in two separate locations in the 200 block of Avenue R Â鶹´«Ã½AV. Both individuals, a 51-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

SPS reports that four individuals matching suspect descriptions were located in the 100 block of Avenue V Â鶹´«Ã½AV by a canine unit. A physical altercation ensued with one of the suspects who refused to comply with the officer's directions. Police say a second suspect attempted to interfere in the arrest by using a dog to threaten the police officer. Eventually all four suspects were taken into custody without further incident.

Three males, ages 12, 14, and 27, and a 17-year-old female, are each facing two counts of aggravated assault. The 12-year-old male is also charged with possession of a dangerous weapon (bear spray), and carrying concealed weapon. The 27-year-old man faces an additional charge of obstruction.
