Saskatoon police find drugs, firearms after head-on collision

Accused refused treatment at the scene, police say.

SASKATOON – A traffic collision on the 4400 block of 11th Street West resulted in police seizing firearms and drugs.

Around 10 a.m. on Sept. 1, police were called to the scene.

"A head-on collision had occurred in the east bound lane and involved a Chevrolet Cruze sedan and a Dodge Ram truck.," said SPS in a media release. "The 33-year-old female driver of the Ram suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The 36-year-old male driver of the Cruze suffered a minor injury and refused treatment."

Police noticed the man showed signs of impairment, and after a search, officers discovered around $4,700 in cash, 3.7 grams of crack cocaine, four grams of methamphetamine, a 3D printed handgun, a replica revolver and a bulletproof vest.

He is now facing charges arising from the collision, including refusal of a breath demand, impaired driving by drug, possession of cocaine and methamphetamine, plus six firearms-related charges.
